Into our 3rd year- Nick took me to Yates Cider Mill. We went for a walk on the trail. We decided to veer off and go down by the water. We were having a great walk and talk about God and all he has done in our lives.
On the way back he took me down the stairway to a secluded area that over looked the water. He knelt down to untangle the dog from the bridge and my feet, (or so I thought) Instead he got down on one knee and proceeded to talk about us and how happy he is God brought us together, as I continued to look out over the pier at the marvelous scenery. Still completely oblivious He said "God worked very hard to get us together and that is why I don't want to spend another day without calling you my WIFE." Well Of course the word WIFE is what caught my attention so I spun around quickly to find him one knee holding a beautiful almost flawless diamond ring. He said "Will you Marry Me?"
Instantly tears well up as I struggled to hold them back I said, in an almost crying voice, "I was wondering when you were going to do that" ( which is what I said to him the first time he kissed me ) Nick still on bended knee says, "So is that a yes?" I said "Yes, Of course it is."
From there we finished the trail and stopped for cider, doughnuts, and of course my favorite....Fudge. Where I tried to play things cool and pretend like I didn't just experience one of the biggest moments of my life. saying things like "Thanks a lot you big Jerk for doing this in the morning now I have to go the rest of the day tearing up."
We concluded the evening with an exquisite dinner at the Melting Pot (somewhere I always wanted to go until then ), and a very funny show at Mark Ridley's comedy club. If you have not heard of Kevin Mcpeak he is pretty funny. All in all the day and night were absolutely perfect and I am delighted to be the future Mrs. Nicholas Hale.
