There were conversations about us wanting to marry each other for a while. It was Christmas morning and we were at my house getting ready to go to a family brunch. While Fred’s mother and my daughter opened their gifts, I was focused on putting extra garland all over my ugly Christmas sweater. Fred remained quiet until the perfect time. When it was my turn to open my gift, I revealed a nice sweater that his mother bought me. That’s when Fred came over offering to help me with my gift. Before I could begin to search the gift bag for the remaining items, he was on one knee with the ring and asked me to marry him…in my super, ugly Christmas sweater. Christmas will never be the same!!
