Franklin and I met in 2006 at a local lounge in Atlanta. Immediately, chemistry was felt between us. However, we only made small talk. Later whenever we saw each other at the bar we would always greet each other. It wouldn’t be until a year and a half later that we finally exchanged numbers. Coincidentally, a mutual friend had invited us out to a popular nightclub for her birthday celebration.  We were both pleasantly surprised to see one another. That night we had a wonderful time drinking, talking and dancing. From that moment on we were immediate friends. Over the years our friendship would continue to grow eventually strengthening to a strong desire to be involved in a lasting loving relationship.

It wasn’t until 2011 after I had moved back to Jacksonville that our friendship developed into something deeper. A series of life events and distance brought us closer. We began a long distance relationship. It was tough! But with the help of lengthy late night calls, skype and frequent road trips, we survived. We knew that a love like ours is rare and worth the sacrifice.  We are meant for each other. Our relationship is custom designed uniquely for us. Our strong friendship provides a perfect foundation for our life long union.

Michia:  I love Franklin so much. I couldn’t imagine life without him. Our lives parallel in such away that we share uncanny similarities. We have shared so many enjoyable adventures together. I look forward to creating many more memorable events in the years to come. He is truly my best friend and soul mate. I feel so fortunate that God has placed this wonderful person in my life. He is truly remarkable! One of the things I love most about Frank is his compassion. He’s not just caring about the people that are important in his life. He has a great love for humanity. He genuinely serves his fellow man without any expectations. I have witnessed him during countless occasions helping out others when he barely has the time to fulfill his many obligations. We often laugh about an incident early in our friendship when he was helping a homeless man and the man tried to take advantage of him. That’s when Franklin saw another side of me. I intervened. I told that man to be grateful and stop trying to take advantage of people. Frank said it was at that moment he knew that I cared about him. Franklin has taught me so much without ever saying anything. His actions have made me become a better woman. And every morning when I awaken next to him staring at me with his big wide ‘Puss n boots’ eyes and smile, I am reassured that our paths were divinely intertwined for a grand purpose.

Franklin:  As you may have already gathered from Our Story, Michia and I have been a part of each other’s lives as friends for some time. In 2011, we started to talk more and realized that what had been a wonderful friendship had become something more.  We spent so much time talking on the phone and traveling back and forth to see each other.  It became obvious that there was a strong attraction for each other that would not go away.  When I realized how much I cared for her was during a mini vacation we took to Savannah, GA.  That short weekend, we grew so much closer and we revealed how we felt about each other.  The rest was history.  What I find the most attractive about Michia is not only is she physically beautiful but, more importantly she is beautiful on the inside.  She is very smart, loving and funny.  Her sense of humor and her laid back personality compliments me so well.  When I first started bringing her around my family, they embraced her with open arms.  Even my older children were pleased to meet her and bring her into our world.  Her daughter was happy to have me in her life and now we have our wonderful son together, who is one of the most precious gifts I have ever received.  I love Michia very much and am so happy to have her as a part of my life.  She is a great friend, a great mom and a great partner to have by my side in this journey of life and I am a better man for it all because of my MiMi.

While Beaches does not discount their rooms they do run amazing promotions that Wendy can get for us. They also provide great group benefits that we all get when a certain number of rooms are booked.
