I deceided that I would let the kids open their Christmas gifts at midnight that year. We lived in Houston and besides the kids, Paul and myself; my sister was the only family we had in Houston. I told her about my plans to open the presents and she came over brought her gifts and watched as the kids opened theirs. My daughter Kalis had been acting strange all day and close to midnight she began putting things on the wall to decorate near the dinning and living room. I thought this was quite strange and began wondering what was going on. She has a way to give up a surprise! After we all opened our Christmas gifts Kalis told me she had something to read. She began to read a letter she wrote telling me how wonderful I am and have been for the family. She included thoughts and lines from Da'Maurious and Paul as well on the good qualities I have. She ended this letter with Paul has a question to ask you. By the time I looked over he was on one knee and said, " Robin you know I love you more then words can explain. I love your children like they are my own. I want to spend the rest of my life you. Will you marry me?' Of course I said yes which brings us to this moment.

I knew from the first time I set eyes on her she would be my wife. After I purchased the ring I knew I had to come up with a way to pop the question. I wanted to get the kids and her together and say family prayer before the kids opened their Christmas gifts and in the middle of the prayer get on one knee. Her daughter Kalis had other plans however. She said we should post put pictures one the wall describing how wonderful her mother is. She then got together with her brother and I to write down all the wonderful things about Robin. Kalis said after we read those we I can get on one knee and ask her to marry me. Christmas Eve came and Robin's sister came over to give the kids their gifts and watch them open the rest. Robin's sister Sha'Neka came to me and asked was it true because Kalis told her all the plans. I talked with Sha'Neka about the kids and my plans to spend the rest of my with Robin. The clock stuck midnight and Kalis reminded me the time is now to make a move. Kalis went all over the house putting pictures and words on the wall and Robin knew something was going on. I took pictures of the kids opening their gifts and told Robin that Kalis has something to read her. She read a heartfelt letter and all the things we love about Robin. At the end of the letter Kalis said Paul has one question to ask you. I got down on my knee, grabbed her hand and asked is she would marry me. She said yes! I look forward to spending forever with her and her kids.
