Dustin waited until the coldest day possible on our trip back to Kansas for Christmas 2017!! He took Eastyn and I out on the farm to see the cows, and mess around at the pond. It happened to be -13 with the windchill, and we decided to be out by the pond shooting. Dustin waited until I was busy shooting to grab the ring and sneak behind me. I knew he was behind me and wondered why, so I turned around and there he was shivering with the ring box open. I only had one request- to ask Eastyn and so we turned to her. Eastyn was clueless to what was happening but got so excited that she started to cry with the tears freezing on her face! Dustin let me know that it was too cold to get on one knee and that he couldn't put the ring on with his gloves so I could do it. Talk about romance! After, we went to call family and friends and then to celebrate by watching the Kstate bowl game at his brother's house. Thankfully, Kstate won otherwise, we may have had to rethink the engagement!
