Picture this: It's October 2020, mid-pandemic, and Brittney's on Hinge thinking she's looking for dating practice. Geron answers the prompt "What are you ordering for the table?" with "carbs". After a few quick messages back and forth, they set a first date at a local Italian restaurant, and lots of carbs were ordered. That night, they overstayed their welcome at the restaurant but didn't want the date to end, so they walked around the outdoor mall and talked far past Brittney's bedtime. Although she knew there was something special in Geron, Brittney was nervous to start a relationship before starting graduate school. Nevertheless, Geron was confident that we'd all end up here and helped Brittney realize that too. 

It didn't take long after they officially started dating in January 2021, for Brittney and Geron to fall in love. Geron knew he loved Brittney because she would always ask to go out for desert after dinner and would never finish her portion. Now, she drags him to the gym before desert but still makes him take the last bite. Brittney knew she was in love with Geron after he had gone to O'Reilly's to buy a brake light for her car. He watched YouTube videos and changed the broken light on his day off just so she didn't have to spend her day off at an autobody shop. 

On August 11, 2023, Brittney thought it was going to be just like any other Friday night after work, but Geron had other plans. Geron set the table with flowers and candles, and after a delicious taco dinner, he got down on one knee and surprised Brittney with the most beautiful diamond ring in the center of a plate of homemade brownies. After the initial shock wore off, she let out an enthusiastic "YES!"

When thinking about signing up to be together for the rest of our time on this earth, we couldn't imagine a better way to celebrate than a giant vacation with our favorite people (you!). We're so excited for you to join us as we say "I do" at our destination wedding in May of 2025.
