This has often been the subject of laughs... Jeff and I first saw each other in the emergency room at a hospital where I was a medical intern. It was a particularly slow day and so I was pretending to be busy at the ER station, when a nurse called my attention to this guy at the lounge who allegedly had been staring at me for the longest time. They were laughing at him and his out-of-place american accent. And I don't know why, but I immediately concluded that he was the dance instructor of our ER senior, who that day had arrived all dressed up as if going to a party. It turns out they WERE going out on a date. But apparently I had made such a big immpression on him that a couple of days later I ran into him again at the ER with his mouth agape and staring again at me as if in shock. It was a phone call from Jeff days later while I was heavily caffeinated that finally got conversation started...and he promptly clarified that, no, he wasnt a dance intstructor... just a guy on a search for his perfect match. And just like in the song "Born For You", everything else was just a matter of destiny. It was written in the stars...

It was in May 2003 that Jeff surprised me by coming home to attend my internship graduation. It was kinda weird kasi we had through go through all those many “firsts” even if we felt we’ve been a couple for so long and know each other so well… Sama naman siya sa mga outing naming. And it was one morning, around 530-6AM in Tagaytay, as the first few rays of sunlight filtered through the thin curtains, everybody lay in drunken sleep, when I was awakened by their snoring. Jeff had a weird look on his face…he was watching me sleep pala. He said I looked so beautiful in the morning. And he got up and brought out this small blue box. In his anxiety he wasn’t able to say anything else, but I understood and took the ring, and gave him a kiss.
